I turned to nutrition because I was desperate for a change.
Years of stress, self-neglect, and bad food had left me sick and depressed. Asthma, irritible bowel syndrome, allergies, reflux, and colds ruled my life. My immune system was shot. No energy (or breath) to exercise, too stressed with school or work to take care of myself the way I should, and no clue (at the time) as to why this was happening to me.
I saw doc after doc. And tried med after med. But nothing helped.
I felt hopeless and alone in my struggle.
Until I discovered that there was another way: Food! And figuring out what was best for my body, my life.
When I changed the way I ate, the health issues I'd been struggling disappeared. It's difficult to put into words how that felt. It was like a miracle.
I knew immediately that I wanted to help other people experience what I'd experienced. To offer education, support, and an empowering, transformative experience. To build relationships and create lasting change.
There'll be no counting calories or weigh-ins here. No deprivation.
Just real food, real talk, and real support.

Vegan, vegetarian, paleo, raw. Low-fat, low-carb, high-carb, gluten-free. And what about dairy? And grains? And oils? So many people telling us what to eat. So many studies, and diets, and promises.
Enough already! Every body needs something a little different.
Why? Because every body is different. Sure, there are some pretty reliable guidelines that make sense for most folks, but there's also a lot of grey space. Wiggle room. And that's where health coaching comes in. Where what I do is different.

I know what it's like to struggle with chronic health problems. To feel like crap every day, have no energy to exercise or go out with friends, and generally feel like you've lost your spark. I'm well aware of the frustration, hopelessness, even depression that come with not being able to get yourself healthy. Because I've been there. And all I wanted, for nearly three years, was to find the answer.
And what I discovered was that when I began to change the way I ate, everything else started to change, too.
But what made the biggest difference of all - what was really the key to my lasting success - was finding someone who would offer support and accountability along the way. Someone who would listen to my story. Really hear me. And help me build a new life.
